MODELING PULL-OUT BEHAVIOR OF THE DEFORMED REBAR EMBEDDED INSIDE THE REINFORCED CONCRETE

چکیده
This study presents the modeling of pull-out behavior deformed bars embedded inside reinforced concrete element. The simulation uses an in-house finite element package called 3D-NLFEA. Sufficiently small solid elements that consider frictional resistance and mechanical interlocking between bar thread matrix were used in simulation. effect compressive strength, cover thickness, stirrup configuration on capacity modeled specimens are investigated thoroughly. found out 3D-NLFEA can capture bond-fracture process at interface concrete. fracture occurs was dominated by tensile splitting failure. presence stirrups confined restrained crack propagation significantly influences capacity, cracking pattern, failure with analysis results from also compared 3D-RBSM available literature. From comparison two packages, it be concluded result is somewhat more conservative to 3D-RBSM.

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
CORROSION BEHAVIOR OF ZINC COATED STEEL REBAR IN HIGH-STRENGTH REINFORCED CONCRETE
A large number of reinforced concrete structures subjected to chloride ions. Two basicapproaches for preventing corrosion of reinforcing steel embedded in concrete are: Increasing theconsolidation of concrete and using different coating on rebars. In present research steel rebarsare coated in different ways: a) 40 µm of zinc electroplated on steel rebar b) Zinc powder withepoxy paste (zinc rich...
متن کاملExperimental Investigations on the Pull-Out Behavior of Tire Strips Reinforced Sands
Waste tires have excellent mechanical performance and have been used as reinforcing material in geotechnical engineering; however, their interface properties are poorly understood. To further our knowledge, this paper examines the pull-out characteristics of waste tire strips in a compacted sand, together with uniaxial and biaxial geogrids also tested under the same conditions. The analysis of ...

Suction caisson is a type of floor foundation for the offshore structures that is also called suction pile, bucket foundation, suction anchor, or sometimes ridge foundation depending on its application. In two past decades, this type of foundation has been widely used around the world as the fixed offshore foundation, anchor of the floating platforms, as well as the foundation of other marine s...
متن کاملEffect of Deformed and Plain Rebars on the Behavior of Lightly Reinforced Boundary Elements
Failure modes in recent earthquakes on lightly reinforced shear walls includes rebar fracture and out of plane buckling of its boundary elements. In latest edition of ACI 318 and also latest amendment of NZS 3101-2006 to avoid rebar fracture in boundary elements, the minimum reinforcement ratio for shear walls is increased. This experimental study investigates that rather than increasing reinfo...
